German autonomous mobility solutions provider Goggo Network has partnered with Domino’s Pizza to pilot droid-based pizza deliveries in Alcobendas in Madrid, Spain.
As per the deal, a fleet of five delivery droids has been deployed in the area to serve a pool of 116,000+ residents.
Analyst QuickTake: Today’s partnership adds Domino’s to the list of Goggo Network’s partners to have deployed its droids in Madrid. In fact, Goggo Network has previously joined hands with Glovo, a local home delivery company (December 2021), supermarket chain Dia, and restaurant chain Telepizza (October 2022) to offer droid-based delivery solutions. Automation of last-mile delivery is not entirely new for Domino’s either. In fact, the company previously tested droid-based deliveries in Germany and the Netherlands in partnership with peer startup Starship Technologies. It has also piloted other automation methods such as autonomous delivery vehicles in partnership with Ford Motor and Nuro and drone-based deliveries in partnership with SkyDrop.
