Einride, an electric and autonomous truck manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) to deploy an ecosystem of EVs, autonomous trucks, and chargers in the UAE. This marks Einride's first announced project in the region.
The partnership will make Einride’s full-freight mobility offering (which includes 2,000 electric trucks, 200 autonomous trucks, and eight charging stations with over 500 charging points) available across the UAE’s “Falcon Rise” grid, a stretch of 550 km (341 miles) across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. The freight ecosystem will be optimized and monitored using the “Einride Saga” platform.
The Falcon Rise project is expected to be developed and implemented over a period of five years.
Analyst QuickTake : Einride has been actively broadening its market reach recently—over a period of 12 months, Einride has expanded its market presence to Germany , Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg), and the UK , in addition to its operations in Sweden and US. The Falcon Rise project will further expand the company’s presence while marking its entrance into the Middle Eastern region.
