Tesla has announced that it does not expect to begin higher volume production for its Semi electric trucks until late 2024 due to battery supply constraints.
In January 2023 , Tesla announced plans to expand the capacity of its production facility in Nevada, which currently can only support the production of five trucks per week. At the time, Tesla mentioned its plans to produce up to 50,000 Semi trucks per year in 2024.
Analyst QuickTake : Tesla began long-awaited Tesla Semi deliveries in December 2022 , after three years of it being delayed since 2019—also amid supply chain shortages and battery availability issues.
