Estonian company Clevon (formerly Cleveron Mobility), a spin-off from Cleveron that provides ADVs for last-mile delivery, has partnered with IKI, a Lithuania-based grocery chain owned by REWE Group, to deploy autonomous delivery vehicles (ADVs) for grocery deliveries in Lithuania.
The company will deploy three ADVs in the Vilnius city center area and will be operated by Lithuanian product delivery startup LastMile. The ADVs will collect the online orders at an IKI store in the area and deliver them directly to customers’ homes in New Town and Old Town districts free of charge.
The ADVs will be restricted to a maximum speed of 15.5 mph and are to be remotely supervised by teleoperators.
Clevon has also successfully conducted a pilot project in the Vilnius suburban district of Balsiai in 2022 in partnership with LastMile.
Analyst QuickTake: Today’s partnership will help Clevon further strengthen its operations in Europe. The company has also joined forces with companies including DPD, DHL Express Estonia, and Colruyt Group for various delivery pilots in Estonia, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
