Nature's Fynd receives approval from Health Canada

FDA approval

  • Nature's Fynd, a Chicago-based alt protein company, has received approval from Health Canada, following a comprehensive assessment of its Fy Protein, to commercialize meat alternatives made using Fy.

  • Fy, derived by fermenting Fusarium strain flavolapis discovered in Yellowstone Park’s geothermal springs, claims to be free from GMO, antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides, and offers twice as much protein as raw peas and 50% more protein than tofu.

  • Analyst QuickTake : Nature’s Fynd is one of the most innovative companies in the plant-based food space. Following the FDA approval for its Fy Protein in 2021, the company collaborated with NASA to develop novel methods of sustainable protein production for space exploration. It has secured over USD 500 million in funding and was featured in EDGE100 for the second year running as one of the 100 promising early-stage startups across various emerging industries.
