Spinnova, a Finnish sustainable textile fiber producer, has partnered with Swedish technical design and consulting firm Rejlers, to create a process design package for Spinnova's fiber production technology.
The collaboration will involve expert and design workers who will plan and size a future production-scale unit. The design package serves as a blueprint for scaling Spinnova's fiber production technology and is not tied to a specific location, meaning it can be implemented worldwide. The design package can be used irrespective of the raw materials used in making SPINNOVA fiber, with its technology allowing textile fiber production from various waste streams. The process design package is slated for preparation in the first half of 2024.
Analyst QuickTake: Spinnova’s latest partnership to accelerate its commercialization follows a partnership with Renewcell to commercialize textile waste-based fiber in September 2023 and an earlier R&D tie-up with Tearfil to trial commercial scale production of SPINNOVA fiber in June 2023. The company also introduced a line of sustainable denim fabric slated for availability in 2024.
