Zipline, a drone-based delivery services provider, has expanded its partnership with composite manufacturing company Mubea Aviation to integrate Mubea's carbon fiber and advanced composites in Zipline's drones.
The company aims to enhance the efficiency and payload-carrying capabilities of Zipline’s drones through this integration.
The duo first partnered in 2022. The drones developed with Mubea’s composite technology enhancements are currently in production and are slated for operational use this year.
Analyst QuickTake: Using composite components in drones has been a trend lately. In fact, peer UK- and Bulgaria-based middle-mile cargo drone manufacturer Dronamics also has manufacturing partnerships with Quickstep Holdings, an Australia-based aerospace composites firm (July 2022), and Cotesa, a German composite fiber components producer (September 2022), for similar purposes.
