EHang Holdings Limited, a leading Chinese autonomous aerial vehicle technology company, announced the signing of an agreement for purchase and operation cooperation with KC Smart Mobility Company Limited (KC Smart Mobility), a subsidiary of Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited (KCBH). KCBH is the largest non-franchised bus operator in Hong Kong.
The partnership plans to advance EHang's EH216-S pilotless eVTOL deployment and operation in Hong Kong, Macau, Xiangyang, and Shiyan in Hubei Province in China. The agreement also includes selling 30 units of the EH216-S eVTOL to KC Smart Mobility. The two partners will collaboratively commence the EH216-S flight event in Hong Kong.
Analyst QuickTake: EHang's partnership with KC Smart Mobility is its fourth recent partnership in 2024 to advance the low-altitude economy in China. EHang recently partnered with China Southern Airlines General Aviation in July 2024 , Wencheng County in June 2024 , and Xishan Tourism in May 2024 . Following its partnership with Wencheng County, EHang also conducted passenger demonstration flights in June 2024 for 27 of its EH216-S pilotless aircraft.
