Chinese XR headset manufacturer DPVR announced the P1 Pro Cam, a new mixed reality (MR) headset designed primarily for educational use in schools and universities.
The P1 Pro Cam is designed to integrate MR content into classrooms, aiming to make abstract concepts more tangible. It has a 4000 mAh battery for all-day use, flexible control options including a touchpad and wireless controller, and is ergonomically designed for extended wear. The device also features a 4K Ultra HD display and a 13MP camera for overlaying digital information in the real world.
Analyst QuickTake: XR players have been focused on launching headsets with MR capabilities as they seek to take advantage of the enhanced user immersion from blending virtual elements with the physical world. Recent MR headset launches include Meta’s Quest 3S (USD 300), HTC’s Vive Focus Vision (USD 999), and Pico Interactive’s 4 Ultra headset.
