IDEX Biometrics partners with Japanese payment card integrator to launch biometric payment cards

Partnerships

 • An unnamed global payment card integrator in Japan has partnered with IDEX Biometrics to enable Japanese banks and issuers to launch biometric payment cards. The companies target production later on this year and the agreement also follows a joint customer engagement and go-to-market model.

 • The biometric smartcards will feature IDEX’s TrustedBio fingerprint sensor module, integrated microcontroller/power management unit (MCU/PMU), biometric software, applets, an inlay, and Infineon’s SLC38 security controller.

Analyst Quicktake: IDEX Biometrics has entered several partnerships to accelerate the commercialization of its biometric payment card sensors.
