Israel-based smart cart provider Cust2Mate announced that its smart cart platform has received National Measurement Office (NMO) certification for its Legal For Trade (LFT) weighing system.
The NMO certification validates the use of Cust2Mate’s scale platform for all forms of worldwide weight measurements and currencies, which means that shoppers worldwide can use the Cust2Mate smart carts to conduct weight-to-cost conversion regardless of the currency or unit of weight.
The NMO Certification Services Directorate operates as a notified body providing a range of conformity assessment activities, including EC-type examination, under European Directive 2009/23/EC for non-automatic weighing instruments (NAWI) and European Directive 2004/22/EC for measuring instruments (MID).
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: Cust2Mate has recently ramped up its global partnerships with supermarket chains. In February 2022 alone, the company launched pilots with Mexico-based Chedraui and New York-based Evergreen Kosher Market . Thus far, Cust2Mate’s approach to evidence-based pilots has proved effective in stimulating retailer interest and driving the adoption of its smart cart offering. As the company continues to deploy its smart carts worldwide, we think that Cust2Mate’s pursuit of the NMO certification is a positive step in the direction of providing retailers with evidence of product efficacy. The move strengthens Cust2Mate’s value proposition for international retailers.<ul>
