Nikola Motor Company (Nikola), a developer of heavy-duty battery-electric vehicles (BEV) and fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) trucks, has begun series production of its “Nikola Tre” BEV truck at its factory in Coolidge, Arizona, with plans to commence deliveries next quarter.
Nikola Tre BEV is pitched toward short- to medium-haul logistics with an estimated range of about 350 miles. Nikola plans to deliver 300–500 trucks to customers this year and ramp up production next year.
The company is also on track to developing the FCEV version of Nikola Tre, which is expected go into production at its facility in Ulm, Germany by mid-2023.

Last month, the company reported having 375 Nikola Tre BEV truck orders from customers including Total Transportation, Hamburg Port Authority, Tri-Eagles Sales, Heniff Transportation Systems, Saia, Covenant Logistics, and USA Trucks. </ul>
