Instacart partners with Coles Supermarkets to launch smart carts in Australia

Partnerships

  • Instacart, a grocery technology company, partnered with Australian grocer Coles Supermarkets to introduce Capter Carts, a smart cart solution for grocery stores.

  • The partnership marks Instacart's first retail expansion into the Asia-Pacific region, with Caper Carts to be launched at Coles' Richmond Traders location in Melbourne by early 2024. The AI-powered carts will integrate with Coles' Flybuys rewards program, allowing customers to access personalized offers and view in-store specials.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Coles Supermarkets adds to Instacart's growing customer list that includes retailers such as Save Mart Companies (May 2024), Price Chopper (June 2024), and Wakefern Food Corp (June 2024) in the US and Aldi South in the US and Europe (August 2024).
