In addition, the company assists organizations in dealing with cross-border regulations and tax laws when hiring remotely. The company also offers a program “Oyster for Impact”, that offers certified nonprofits and benefit corporations discounts on Oyster’s distributed HR tools, financially backed by PayPal Ventures and HR Tech Investments ( September 2021 ). The program also offers free enrollment in the company's educational program Oyster Academy. Its services are offered in more than 180 countries. The platform’s subscription pricing to hire independent contractors starts at USD 29 per month per user and global employment services start at USD 399 per month per employee.

In 2021, Oyster’s revenue grew by over 20x and the number of employees on the platform increased by 17x. Notably, in the first quarter of 2022, Oyster attracted over 20,000 job applications for client vacancies.

In May 2022 , Oyster partnered with Recruiter.com, an on-demand recruitment platform to support Recruiter.com’s clients with hiring efforts. The company claims the partnership opens up employment opportunities to over 150 million candidates worldwide.

In its most recent funding round ( April 2022 ), Oyster raised USD 150 million in Series C funding led by Georgian. The round brought its valuation to over USD 1 billion, from a USD 475 million valuation at the time of Oyster’s USD 50 million Series B funding round in June 2021 . The fresh funds were earmarked for platform development and to invest in the “People Ops” community.
