BLAST

Blast Premier is a Danish esports entertainment company which organizes tournaments, studio shows, and online events which are broadcasted on streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube. The company has operational offices in Copenhagen and London. 

Further, in June 2020, the company entered the Chinese market with an exclusive media rights deal for its Counter-Strike tournament, with streaming platform DouYu.  Blast also expanded its Fall Qualifying Series to China and Brazil in June 2021. 

Moreover, it announced its entry to Apex Legends esports with plans to organize a Europe-focused event bringing together 40 Apex Legend teams across Europe. It also expanded its online CS:GO series, BLAST Rising, to the Latin American region in November 2021 and entered FIFA esports to produce the 2021/22 ePremier League season. In September 2022, the company confirmed that it will produce the first-ever CS:GO Major in France in May 2023. 

The platform is known for its Counter-Strike competitive tournament streams which cover seven events across five continents. In June 2020, the platform introduced Dota 2 tournaments for the first time. Following this, in May 2024, BLAST launched BLAST Slam, a new Dota 2 circuit running from late 2024 to 2025. 

Key customers and partnerships

The company has partnered with leading esports teams such as FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, and 100 thieves to run its events. Other partners include TV2 (Danish government owned broadcaster), VENN(production and broadcasting network), and CS.Money (game skin trading platform).

Funding and financials

In September 2023, BLAST secured EUR 12.7 million (~USD 13.4 million) from its latest funding round, led by the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO). The funding was aimed at fueling BLAST’s global growth and strengthening its position as a major player in esports, working closely with publishers like Valve, Ubisoft, and Epic Games.
