Key customers and partnerships
As of June 2023, the company was developing Project Bison , a DAC facility in Wyoming, in partnership with carbon storage developer Frontier Carbon Solutions and Twelve. It intended to capture five million tons of CO2 per annum by 2030 once the facility was fully operational. The project was expected to reach initial operationalization by late 2024.
In March 2023, CarbonCapture signed up Microsoft to supply carbon removal credits from its Project Bison. In June 2023, the company entered into a five-year carbon removal agreement with Boston Consulting Group to remove 40,000 tons of CO2.

The company’s latest funding was in March 2024 , when it raised USD 80 million in a Series A funding round led by Prime Movers Lab. Previously in September 2023 , the company raised an undisclosed amount from Amazon, via its Climate Pledge Fund. In August 2023 , a CarbonCapture-led consortium received USD 12.5 million in funding from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to develop Project Bison. In October 2021, the company raised USD 35 million in a Series A funding round led by Prime Movers Lab. The funds were used to scale up product development activities and deploy its DAC systems across the US.
