Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft or BMW AG (ETR: BMW) is the parent company of the BMW Group. The German luxury automobile and motorcycle manufacturer owns the BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, and BMW Motorrad brands. BMW was ranked sixth among global automakers in terms of revenue in 2022, having generated EUR 143 billion (USD 152 billion).
BMW’s automobiles fall under premium and luxury vehicle categories and include premium compact class, premium mid-size class, and ultra-luxury class vehicles. It also offers a range of financial and mobility services. In 2022, BMW sold over 2.4 million automobiles globally, out of which ~18% (433,795 units) were electrified models (which included both BEV and PHEVs).
BMW expects its total automobile deliveries for 2023 to be slightly higher than 2022 level, while the EBIT margin was estimated to be between 8% and 10%. The company also plans on achieving 15% share in the BEV market and intends to reach net zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2050.
