Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) designs, manufactures, and sells a range of information technology products and services, including computing, storage, and networking, primarily targeting enterprise clients. The company, known for its direct-to-consumer business model, shipped ~40 million personal computer (PC) units worldwide in 2023 as one of the largest technology companies in the world. It is also a leader in enterprise storage solutions. Dell recorded USD 88 billion in revenue for FY2024 (year ended February 2024).
Dell offers its technology solutions under two categories: Client Solutions Group (CSG) and Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG). The former includes front-end computer hardware products such as PCs, desktops, workstations, and related peripheral devices, while the latter houses back-end hardware and support such as servers, and network solutions and storage solutions. Moreover, the company holds a strategic interest in VMware (as a major channel partner) and equity stakes in cybersecurity firm Secureworks and in Virtustream, a provider of cloud computing solutions and managed services.
The US is the single major standalone market for Dell, contributing ~50% toward revenue (FY2024), while international markets account for the remainder. The company targets top-line growth of 3%–4% per annum through 2026, led by the ISG division. Dell expects the modernization of its core product portfolio to support the growth outlook in the medium term, while it invests and builds a presence in emerging fields, particularly cloud and edge computing, telecommunications networks, and data management. Dell also targets net zero emissions by 2050.
