Shopic is an Israel-based developer of smart cart solutions that aims to provide a frictionless shopping experience for medium and large grocery stores. Shopic offers Shop-E, an AI-powered clip-on device that can transform a regular shopping cart into a smart cart.
The Shop-E device can be picked up from its charger shelf unit and attached to a shopping cart with a single click. The device uses computer vision to identify products inserted or removed from the cart, displays the bill on the screen for products in the cart, and allows shoppers to settle their payments at the end of their store visit. The device also serves as a medium for personalized promotions, improving customer engagement. Shopic’s analytics engine also gathers live data on buyer behavior and generates insights such as buyer shopping habits, planogram compliance, and shelf stocking levels, helping optimize store management.
Key customers and partnerships
Shopic’s technology is currently used by retailers in Europe, the US, and Israel. In December 2021, Shopic announced a partnership with Shufersal, Israel’s largest supermarket chain, to install its devices in 200 stores countrywide. The Shufersal implementation was slated for early 2022.
