Vital Meat is a French cell-cultured meat company specializing in hybrid meat analogs. As of December 2023, the company is developing a cultivated chicken ingredient specifically designed for next-gen hybrid alternatives but plans on venturing into other meat types later. Vital's production process includes extracting cells from a fertilized chicken egg and growing it in bioreactors by feeding FBS-free growth media. The company claims its chicken ingredient will provide improved taste, texture, and nutrition profile to hybrid meats.
Vital Meats is a member of Cellular Agriculture Europe and plans to enter the European market following regulatory approval. In addition, the company is also eyeing the US and Singaporean markets and has filed a pre-market dossier for its cultivated chicken product, Vital Chicken, with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) for regulatory approval. Further, in May 2024 , Vital Meats submitted a market approval dossier with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Food Standards Scotland, seeking permission to commercialize its cultivated chicken products.
