Sony operates through five main business segments. The Game & Network Services (G&NS) segment primarily includes PlayStation-related products and services (~31% of the total revenue in FY2023). The Music segment engages in music distribution and publishing (~12%). Pictures encompasses motion pictures, television productions, and media networks (~12%). The Entertainment, Technology & Services (ET&S) segment focuses on television, audio, cameras, and mobile communications (~21%). Imaging & Sensing Solutions (I&SS) specializes in the production of image sensors (~11%). The Financial Services division includes insurance and banking operations (~13%).
The US is Sony’s largest market (~30% of total revenue in FY2023), followed by Japan and Europe. Sony’s mid-term plan for FY2022–FY2024 expects to generate three-year cumulative adjusted EBITDA of JPY 4.3 trillion. Sony aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.
