Nanotech Energy develops graphene-based energy storage technologies for electronic devices, EVs, and renewable energy applications. The company’s graphene batteries demonstrate 1400+ cycles of use, compared to a traditional lithium-ion battery’s 300-500 cycles. Furthermore, Nanotech’s batteries also maintain performance during extreme temperatures and weather conditions (-40°C to +50°C / -40°F to +122°F). The company began accepting battery pre-orders in December 2021 with plans to begin production in 2023.
In July 2022 , Nanotech Energy announced the construction of a 1 million sq.ft. battery manufacturing plant in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, Nevada, US. This facility will be capable of producing up to 15 GWh of batteries at full capacity. Following this, in November 2022 the company announced the construction of a 100 MWh battery manufacturing facility at its Chico Technology Center in Chico, California.

The company’s latest funding was in August 2021 , when it raised USD 64 million in a Series D round. In May 2020, the company raised USD 27.5 million in a Series C round valuing the company at USD 227 million.
