Hydrogen Economy?

Germany-based Enapter develops electrolyzers using its patented anion exchange membrane (AEM) technology for the production of hydrogen from water and electricity. The company’s electrolyzers are stacked, allowing for flexible and modular deployment of varying sizes. In addition to electrolyzers, the company also offers an energy management system that connects any device into a unified energy network via software integration. In May 2023 , Enapter also unveiled its AEM Multicore, the world's first megawatt-scale AEM electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen. The AEM Multicore features 420 AEM stacks, producing nearly 450 kg of green hydrogen per day. In September 2023, the company added the AEM Flex 120 to its portfolio, an AEM electrolyzer with up to 50 AEM stack core modules, and delivered the first unit to ABC-Klinkergruppe, a brick manufacturer in Germany, in November 2023 .

In September 2021, Enapter began construction of its 82,000-square-meter Enapter Campus in Saerbeck, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which will house research and development, warehousing and offices, and manufacturing. The new facility will produce 10,000 electrolyzers per month and became operational in May 2023.

Key customers and partnerships

The company has a global customer base including key customers such as HyFlyer (a UK-based hydrogen aircraft project), Hyperion Motors (a US-based hydrogen fuel cell car developer), Delta Green (France) and Steinbeis Innovation Center siz energie+ (Germany). The company’s list of partners is also global and includes ElektrikGreen (US), Cero Group (UK), H2 Core Systems (Germany), PowiDian (France), Edu-Tek (India), Shenqian Technology (China), VINCI Energies (Germany), Johnson Matthey (UK), and YEST (South Korea) among others.

In August 2023 . Enaptor signed a framework supply agreement of over EUR 6 million (~USD 6.6 million) with Wolong, a Chinese manufacturer of motors and drives.
