ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-based aviation solutions developer, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ravn Alaska, a regional airline and cargo transportation provider, to develop hydrogen-electric engines for Ravn’s passenger aircraft.
Under the agreement, Ravn has ordered 30 ZeroAvia’s ZA2000 powertrains to retrofit its De Havilland Dash-8 fleet. The partnership will integrate ZeroAvia’s ZA600 hydrogen-powered engine with Ravn’s De Havilland Dash-8 aircraft.
ZeroAvia’s ZA2000 is a 2 to 5 megawatt modular powertrain to accommodate 40- to 90-seater turboprop aircraft, ranging up to 500 nautical miles with zero-flight emission. Deliveries are planned from 2026 onwards.
