Fluence Energy, a Nasdaq-listed company offering long-duration energy storage solutions and AI-enabled energy storage optimization software, has partnered with a contract manufacturer to open a manufacturing facility in Utah, US. This expands Fluence’s production beyond Asia and allows the company to better serve regional markets and growing global demand.
Shipping of Fluence Cubes, the modular storage building blocks designed by Fluence, from the facility is expected to begin in September 2022, with production capacity initially set at 75 Cubes per week with plans to then ramp it up to 150 Cubes per week. The output will support Fluence’s energy storage products: Gridstack, Sunstack, and Edgestack.

Analyst QuickTake: Fluence’s production expansion into the US comes atop of revenue growth of 349% YoY in Q2 2022 as well as several new partnerships including collaborations with Münch Energie to build a battery-based energy storage system in Germany; with Rich Electric to deploy a 100 MW battery project in Taiwan; and with Centrica and Google to deploy a backup power system in Belgium.
