Nikola partners with ChargePoint to offer charging infrastructure solutions

Partnerships

  • Nikola Motor Company (Nikola), a developer of heavy-duty battery-electric vehicles (BEV) and fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) trucks, partnered with ChargePoint, an electric vehicle (EV) charging network, to offer charging infrastructure for Nikola customers in the US.

  • The deal provides Nikola with access to ChargePoints’s entire charging solutions portfolio, including management software and the ability to resell those solutions to Nikola’s fleet customers.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Today’s partnership will help Nikola to further strengthen its EV charging infrastructure ecosystem as the company commences production and deliveries of its BEV trucks to customers. Earlier this year, Gatik, an autonomous truck developer for middle-mile delivery, also partnered with ChargePoint to offer charging infrastructure and related services for Gatik’s customers in the US and Canada. Last July, commercial vehicle manufacturers, Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, and Volkswagen's Traton Group also partnered to build and operate a high-performance public charging network for battery electric heavy-duty trucks and buses—across Europe.
