3D Systems, a seller of 3D printers and related products, announced a partnership with Oerlikon, a provider of surface and additive manufacturing solutions and services, to accelerate metal additive manufacturing.
By combining 3D Systems' Direct Metal Printing platform and Oerlikon AM's surface engineering capabilities, the two companies aim to expedite the development of applications in high-criticality industries like aerospace and semiconductors.
As part of the agreement, Oerlikon AM will also acquire a 3D Systems DMP Factory 500 system for its North Carolina facility, enhancing its end-to-end supply chain solution for precise aluminum components in the US market.
