Networking and security services company Cloudflare has announced the general availability of all components of its home-grown single-vendor secure access service edge (SASE) solution.
The Cloudflare One SASE platform launched in 2020 with secure web gateway (SWG), cloud access security broker (CASB), and zero-trust network access (ZTNA) capabilities, subsequently incorporating the company’s Magic WAN SD-WAN equivalent, which was launched in 2021.
Cloudflare One SASE is built on the company’s extensive global network, which operates in more than 100 countries and was developed entirely in-house by Cloudflare, except for the acquisition of a small CASB startup, according to company officials.
Analyst QuickTake: Cloudflare joins an increasingly competitive single-vendor SASE space, with Check Point recently launching a SASE solution after its acquisition of Perimeter 81 , and Forcepoint divesting its government business to focus on SASE earlier in October. Netskope ’s acquisition of Infiot and Hewlett Packard ’s acquisition of Axis Security were other notable SASE-focused M&A deals this year. Other major players in the space include Palo Alto Networks , Fortinet , Versa , and Cisco .
