Archer Aviation, an NYSE-listed eVTOL aircraft manufacturer, has partnered with the US Air Force (USAF), with the delivery of its Midnight eVTOL aircraft to the USAF.
The company partnered with the USAF to conduct simulated medical evacuation, cargo, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance flight missions using the five-seater Midnight aircraft.
The partnership agreement entails the delivery of up to six Midnight aircraft to the USAF under an Afwerx Agility Prime contract valued at ~USD 142 million and the delivery of an eVTOL flight simulator from a previous collaboration in October 2023 .
Analyst QuickTake: Archer is making headway in expanding its operations and the sales of its Midnight aircraft throughout the US, which included it recently securing a ~USD 580 million purchase order from Future Flight Global . The company had also formed partnerships with Southwest Airlines and Kilroy Realty Corporation for the development of air taxi networks in California and San Francisco, respectively. Earlier, in August 2024 , Archer also unveiled its planned vertiport sites in Los Angeles.
