Archer Aviation delivers Midnight aircraft to the US Air Force

Partnerships

  • Archer Aviation, an NYSE-listed eVTOL aircraft manufacturer, has partnered with the US Air Force (USAF), with the delivery of its Midnight eVTOL aircraft to the USAF.

  • The company partnered with the USAF to conduct simulated medical evacuation, cargo, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance flight missions using the five-seater Midnight aircraft.

  • The partnership agreement entails the delivery of up to six Midnight aircraft to the USAF under an Afwerx Agility Prime contract valued at ~USD 142 million and the delivery of an eVTOL flight simulator from a previous collaboration in October 2023 .

  • Analyst QuickTake: Archer is making headway in expanding its operations and the sales of its Midnight aircraft throughout the US, which included it recently securing a ~USD 580 million purchase order from Future Flight Global . The company had also formed partnerships with Southwest Airlines and Kilroy Realty Corporation for the development of air taxi networks in California and San Francisco, respectively. Earlier, in August 2024 , Archer also unveiled its planned vertiport sites in Los Angeles.
