BlackSky Technology, a geospatial intelligence provider, has secured a seven-figure contract from an undisclosed customer to deliver non-Earth imaging (NEI) services for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) capabilities.

The contract integrates its Gen-2 satellite imagery of on-orbit spacecraft into the customer's SDA assets. This expansion into SDA allows BlackSky to utilize its current high-resolution Gen-2 constellation, meeting customer demand for NEI solutions and supporting Space Situational Awareness operations.

BlackSky's NEI capabilities will leverage the underutilized capacity of satellites passing over oceans or in eclipse, enhancing the company's service offering and supporting space security missions.

Analyst QuickTake: This marks BlackSky Technology's second seven-figure contract for the provision of NEI services to advance space situational awareness; it received the first contract from HEO in September 2024 . BlackSky also recently received contracts from NASA to provide Earth observation data and from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency for a five-year contract for global monitoring services.
