Formlabs, an additive manufacturing solutions provider, has launched two new large-format stereolithography (SLA) 3D printers, Form 4L and Form 4BL.
Priced at USD 9,999, the Form 4L features a build volume nearly five times larger than the Form 4, print speeds of up to 80 mm/hour, and compatibility with over 23 materials. It includes new accessories such as a resin mixer, resin tank, build platform, resin pumping system, a finishing kit, and Form Wash L for post-processing.
Analyst QuickTake : Formlabs has been steadily ramping up its product development in the SLA and selective laser sintering (SLS) printing space since releasing the initial version of the Form 4 printer around 6 months ago. In July, It acquired Micronics , a 3D printer startup, to integrate its team and leverage its expertise in developing SLS 3D printers, and went on to launch several new resins and SLA and SLS post-processing tools in September. Notably, this trend of SLA and SLS technology development can be observed across other players in the additive manufacturing industry, with disruptors such as Fugo Precision and Stratasys launching new SLA-focused products over the last six months.
