Alpha Metaverse Technologies Inc

Alpha Esports Tech Inc. (Alpha) is an integrated Canadian esports infrastructure company that facilitates online tournaments, content broadcasts, esports events, and player development opportunities. Alpha also operates a monthly subscription service, GamerzArena+, priced at USD 12.99 per month. The service provides access to online tournaments, contests, and development leagues. In May 2021, Alpha Tech commenced trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange. 

It also operates an amateur esports program (GamerzYouth) and entered into Minecraft esports in July 2021. The entry into Minecraft is expected to act as the kickoff league for GamerzYouth and Alpha is expected to partner with Gamersafer, an identity verification technology provider, to offer a recreational Minecraft league for youth esports through GamerzYouth, which is expected to focus on gaming initiatives including esports contests, education, and live events. 

In August 2021, Alpha Tech announced the launch of a mobile gaming platform, GamerzArcade, which is expected to run parallel to its online platform, GamerzArena.  GamerzArcade allows Alpha’s users to compete in daily, weekly, and monthly gaming contests across several popular casual games such as solitaire, chess, checkers, and sudoku. It intends to focus on expanding its offerings by partnering with third-party mobile game developers. In line with this, Alpha partnered with B2B gaming platform MarketJS to access its library of sports, strategy, and board games. 

The company deployed partnerships to enter into the APAC and Southeast Asian markets in 2021. It expanded into the Indian market through multiple partnerships with local esports companies including Irony Inc. and Oblivion Esports, and the Philippines through a tie-up with Nexgen Entertainment, an esports production and entertainment company. GamerzArena was expected to serve as the online tournament provider partner in all partnerships. As of September 2020, the company had a customer base of around 100,000 users. 

Furthermore, Alpha Tech revealed plans to expand its operations into Brazil through a partnership with Mais Esports in July 2021. Mais Esports covers news on major esports titles and tournaments, including League of Legends, CS:GO, Fortnite, and PUBG. The company has an average of 4 million monthly views on its website and 400,000 social media followers. As a result of the partnership, Alpha Esports’ GamerzArena is expected to become the exclusive platform for all of Mais's online esports events in Brazil with plans to split revenue from paid memberships, events, and tournaments hosted.

Since December 2020 Alpha has announced the acquisition of Montreal-based esports companies HypeX Inc and eDoxa. Through the acquisitions, Alpha aimed to leverage HypeX’s content ecosystem to support its platform’s user growth and deploy eDoxa’s match scoring and fraud detection technology on GamerzArena.  In line with this, Alpha partnered with EEG Labs, which is a subsidiary of Esports Entertainment Group, in October 2021 to design a computer vision-aided automated scoring system for GamerzArena.

In January 2021, the company announced it had filed a non-offering preliminary prospectus with the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC), Alberta Securities Commission, and Ontario Securities Commission. In addition, the company announced the close of its private placement, in which it raised gross proceeds of approximately CAD 5.9 million (around USD 4.6 million). It also announced a private placement of CAD 1.5 million (approximately USD 1.2 million) in October 2021.
