TELEGRID Technologies develops and manufactures communications and networking equipment and systems for US military and government agencies. Its drone-based delivery division DEXA (formerly Drone Express) introduced its latest quadcopter model called “DE-2023 Phoenix” in November 2023. The drone designed for package delivery, can carry payloads up to 85 lbs covering a distance of up to 20 miles. The company also pioneered the concept of AeroGRID+ drone swarm technology, which facilitates the interconnectivity of the drones.
DEXA has conducted pilots in California, New Jersey, Ohio, Georgia, and North Carolina in the US, and Madrid, Spain (as of July 2024). The company also operates a facility in Monroe, Ohio for manufacturing, testing, and piloting autonomous drones for commercial package delivery. The company was working towards obtaining the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Part 135 certification to launch commercial operations in the US as of October 2024. It obtained FAA’s Part 107 Beyond-Visual-Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) waiver for drone operations in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in November 2024.

DEXA has conducted pilot deliveries with partners such as retailer Kroger, pizza chain Papa John’s, and Winsupply, a supplier of residential and commercial construction and industrial supplies.
Its product partnerships include 1) FarEye, an intelligent delivery management platform, to launch improved drone-based delivery services for retailers in the US (June 2021); and 2) Microsoft to develop fully autonomous drone delivery software (November 2022).
