Odd Burger begins franchising operations in the US

Geographic expansion

  • Canadian vegan fast-food chain Odd Burger Corporation (previously Globally Local Technologies Inc.), announced the launch of its Delaware-based corporation–Odd Burger the US–that will handle the company’s franchising operations in the US.

  • The company intends to sell franchises in 25 states including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, DC, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

  • AnalystQuickTake: While vegan fast food chains were a rare sight a few years ago, such establishments are quickly gaining popularity as consumer preferences shift from meat to plant-based. In 2022, there were several developments in the vegan fast food space including Neat Burger’s expansion to the US , Slutty Vegan’s USD 25 million Series A funding , Nomoo partnering with Nestle to develop plant-based meats , and Next Level Burger’s USD 20 million venture funding round. Odd Burger being the vegan chain to go public, the company has a considerable advantage over other players which is likely to increase with its expansion to the US.
