Amazon partners with Six Flags and Coca-Cola to introduce ‘Quick Six’ automated stores

Partnerships

  • Amazon has announced plans to launch its Just Walk Out technology at select Six Flags amusement park locations. The collaboration is a result of a joint venture between Six Flags, Amazon, and Coca-Cola.

  • The technology will be available at a 400 sq ft “Quick Six” automated store. Customers will be able to enter the store, pick up items such as food, drinks, and Six Flags merchandise, and exit the store; they will then be automatically charged for their purchases based on the payment method used to enter the store.

  • Quick Six stores will initially be launched in June 2023 at a Six Flags location in New Jersey, with plans to expand the technology to the company’s Magic Mountain, Los Angeles, location based on the success of the initial launch. Coca-Cola expects the technology to improve its retail sales per visitor by 10% and plans to launch the technology at all Six Flags locations if it yields the expected results.

  • Analyst QuickTake : Six Flags will be the first amusement park operator to introduce Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology. The technology is currently available at locations such as airports and sports arenas like the Seattle major league baseball stadium T-Mobile Park , Lumen Field NFL Stadium , and Phoenix Raceway . Amazon recently also launched the technology at  Marymount University, Arlington , marking the technology’s debut at a higher education institution.
