Shipwell, an online freight-matching company, has announced a new integration with DAT Freight and Analytics, a provider of a freight marketplace service, to enhance the analytics solutions available for Shipwell TMS, Shipwell's freight matching platform.
As a part of the partnership, the users of Shipwell TMS will have access to a “DAT RateView” subscription, enabling them to access real-time dynamic ratings, market rate intelligence, and strategic decision-making support directly via their TMS screens.
The partnership will also integrate “DAT Load Board” into TMS, streamlining and enhancing some of the platform’s existing features such as the freight capacity search process and load posting while also providing TMS users access to DAT’s carrier network. The platform also has enabled automation of the booking process through DAT's freight matching.
Analyst QuickTake: Partnering with peer online freight matching companies to enhance product offerings can be seen as a common strategy among industry players. For example, along with Shipwell, other peer startups like SmartHop (July 2021) and Parade (since 2020) have partnered with DAT Freight & Analytics to provide carriers and brokers with access to loads posted on DAT’s platform. Another online freight matching services provider, Loadsmart , also has a partnership with peer SmartHop to offer more load opportunities to its drivers (December 2020).
