Geographic expansion

  • Prusa Research, a provider of 3D printers, has announced plans to start 3D printers and filaments production through its subsidiary, Printed Solid, to meet the needs of North American customers.

  • The plan includes assembling Prusa MK4 3D printers from July 2024, manufacturing a selected range of Prusa filaments, and providing repair services through Printed Solid.

  • The company claims that its presence in the US will enhance efficiency and reduce delivery times for consumers in the region.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This news follows a recent increase in AM companies expanding to the North American market in the past few months. Prusa Research joins the likes of Caracol, which partnered with Filament and DIVE to offer its LFAM solutions in June; JuggerBot 3D , which partnered with Additive Man to resell its Tradesman Series printers in the US in June; SPEE3D , which launched a US-based manufacturing facility and applications center in June ; and AML3D , which raised USD 3.9 million in a right issue to build a new manufacturing facility in the US in April .
