Formlabs launches Creator Series resins for 3D printers at Formnext 2024

Product updates

  • Formlabs, a 3D printer manufacturer, has introduced the Creator Series of resins designed for hobbyist-grade LCD and DLP 3D printers. The new resin series, made in the US, has been made available on Amazon at USD 45 per kilogram.

  • The series launches with two initial products: Creator Tough Resin, which offers ABS-like properties with a matte gray finish suitable for painting, and Creator Super Clear Resin, which provides transparency and can be polished, coated, or dyed. The resins are compatible with popular hobbyist printers like Elegoo Mars, Anycubic Photon, and Creality Halot Mage.

  • The company emphasizes that these resins address safety concerns in the hobbyist market by producing fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs), eliminating harmful odors, and maintaining professional-level quality while being more affordable than standard options.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The ongoing Formnext expo has seen the launch of a number of new AM materials over the last month. These include 1) Xenia Materials , which launched four new high-performance filaments for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), 2) Henkel , which unveiled Loctite 3D IND6845 , a thermoplastic polyurethane designed for industrial applications, and 3) Nano Dimension , which launched a new DLP 3D printing resin called Ataru.
