Headquartered in Shanghai, DPVR produces a range of multi-purpose VR headsets catered toward entertainment, education, workforce training, and medical simulations. DPVR was also estimated to be the second-largest shipper of XR headsets in China for 2022.

The company’s latest product announced in April 2024 was the E4 Arc headset, which incorporated Ultra Leap’s Motion Controller 2 hand-tracking camera  enabling the device to be utilized for collaborative spatial design, prototyping, and visualization of CAD designs. The E4 Arc headset is also tailored toward arcade game manufacturers, with its R&D team optimizing the headset for video games.

Previously, in October 2023 the company launched the E4C headset (priced at USD 599). The headset catered to VR arcade operators, featuring a 4K fast-LCD display, a 90Hz refresh rate, and three degrees of freedom. It also offers a 116° field of view using Fresnel lenses and includes a 90° flip-up design for easy transition between the virtual and real worlds. Additionally, a previous headset iteration, the E4, received significant hardware upgrades in February 2024.

In September 2023, DPVR launched the P2 VR headset, priced at USD 398 and targeted towards the education sector. The headset is powered by Qualcomm’s SnapDragon XR1 processor, offers a screen resolution of 3664 x 1920, 3 DoF tracking, and a 94° field of view (FOV).

Other ranges of headsets produced include the following:

E3 (USD 239-378): A multi-purpose PC tethered VR headset offering wireless broadcasting capabilities and a 4K screen resolution compatible with SteamVR and equipped with positional tracking and motion controls.

P1 (USD 198 - 599): A multi-purpose wireless VR headset with 4K screen resolution and 3 to 6 degrees of freedom (DoF) tracking based on model type.

Key customers and partnerships

Partnerships to integrate VR games with DPVR headsets include that with

War of Wizards, a competitive VR MOBA game (May 2023), Chinese VR tech company EZVR to launch the Polygon social metaverse (June 2022), and ZOMDAY, MOONSER (June 2022), and FXG (May 2022) to launch more VR games.
