Headquartered in Shanghai, DPVR produces a range of multi-purpose VR headsets catered toward entertainment, education, workforce training, and medical simulations. DPVR was also estimated to be the second-largest shipper of XR headsets in China for 2022.
The company’s latest product announced in October 2024 was the P1 Pro Cam, a mixed reality (MR) headset designed primarily for educational use in schools and universities. Previously, the company launched the E4 Arc headset (April 2024), which incorporated Ultra Leap’s Motion Controller 2 hand-tracking camera enabling the device to be utilized for collaborative spatial design, prototyping, and visualization of CAD designs.
Headsets launched in 2023 included 1) the P2 VR headset, priced at USD 398 and targeted towards the education sector and 2) E4C headset (priced at USD 599), catered to VR arcade operators, featuring a 4K fast-LCD display, a 90Hz refresh rate, and three degrees of freedom. Additionally, a previous headset iteration, the E4, received significant hardware upgrades in February 2024.

E3 (USD 239-378): A multi-purpose PC tethered VR headset offering wireless broadcasting capabilities and a 4K screen resolution compatible with SteamVR and equipped with positional tracking and motion controls.
P1 (USD 198 - 599): A multi-purpose wireless VR headset with 4K screen resolution and 3 to 6 degrees of freedom (DoF) tracking based on model type.
Key customers and partnerships
Partnerships to integrate VR games with DPVR headsets include that with
War of Wizards, a competitive VR MOBA game (May 2023), Chinese VR tech company EZVR to launch the Polygon social metaverse (June 2022), and ZOMDAY, MOONSER (June 2022), and FXG (May 2022) to launch more VR games.
Headset distribution partnerships to enter into new regions included that with Canada Computers & Electronics (August 2024).
Funding and financials
In March 2023, DPVR raised CNY 100 million (~USD 14.5 million) in a funding round led by Qingdao Microelectronics Innovation Capital. Funds were earmarked for product development efforts, and to expand its global presence.
