Founded in Germany, Zeotap is a customer data platform (CDP) that unifies data across multiple channels while adhering to the privacy standards of European and other regulations. The platform has a “consent orchestration” feature that gives visibility on the level and nature of customer consent, providing a greater degree of control and compliance with data privacy standards. The platform also has several tools specifically built for marketers, such as predictive analytics powered by machine learning for customer segmentation, which can be used to deliver personalized marketing campaigns using the 60+ platform integrations available. By September 2021, 80+ of the top 100 global brands, such as Unilever, Coca-Cola, and Heineken, were using Zeotap.

In October 2023, the firm launched Ada, an AI solution that improves user interaction within the Zeotap CDP. It offers a conversational interface for audience segmentation, analytics, and customer journey building. 

According to the firm, it’s the only CDP to have third-party identity resolution, which provides visibility on unauthenticated visitors to a website while remaining compliant with strict European data privacy standards. In recognition of these efforts, Zeotap has been conferred with a multitude of awards including the “Pioneer of the Year” in the 2021 Campaign Tech Awards. It was also recognized as a leader and high performer in G2’s Spring 2021 report.

Key customers and partnerships

In May 2023, the company partnered with Digitl, a cloud infrastructure provider, to offer a customized hybrid approach to data management in the DACH market. In September 2023, the firm partnered with TikTok for Business, the ad platform for TikTok, to improve targeting capabilities and expand audience reach for advertisers on TikTok. During the same month, the firm partnered with Artefact, a global data consulting service specialist, to improve economic outcomes for enterprises. In January 2024, the firm partnered with Illuma, an AI-driven expansion and optimization corporation, to develop advertising solutions that address the void left by the elimination of third-party cookies. In April 2024, Zeotap partnered with telecom giants, including Virgin Media O2, Sky, and TIM, to improve customer experiences.

Funding and financials

Zeotap has had six rounds of funding; the two most recent being extensions to Series C funding through which it raised USD 11 million in September 2021 led by Liberty Global Ventures and USD 18.5 million in November 2020 led by SignalFire. Zeotap was to use the funding to further invest in its CDP platform as well as to launch and further develop its innovative Universal ID+, designed to provide visibility on customer data without making use of third-party cookies that are expected to be phased out by 2023.

Zeotap reported that in 2020, it experienced a 126% YoY growth in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and a 201% YoY growth in subscription revenue.
