Zippin, the San Francisco-based checkout-free technology solutions provider, has introduced Zippin Lane, a checkout-free solution suitable for high-traffic locations like sports arenas, airports, train stations, and busy college campuses.
The stores are designed to fit into long and narrow areas with store sizes starting at 240 square feet. The stores can be deployed within a week and claim a faster ROI after deployment.
Shoppers can enter one end of the lane with a credit card or mobile app, select their items, and exit at the other end for automated checkout. The company claims most shopping trips take 40 seconds or less including the time taken to browse.
The company has already deployed over 20 Zippin lanes in 2022 including 9 locations at NFL venues that opened within the last month. Five of the Zippin lanes are at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium while four lanes are at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Allegiant Stadium has reported a 66% increase in speed of service, a 45% increase in sales for the same space when compared to last year, and over a 30% increase in the number of product SKUs offered.
Analyst QuickTake : In July, Zippin launched a checkout-free store at Dave & Busters in Florida. Other sports and entertainment venues with checkout-free solutions include Houston’s NRG Stadium , T-Mobile Park , Houston Astros’ baseball stadium , Boston’s Fenway Park , Lumen Field NFL Stadium , and Kyle Field football stadium in Texas.
