Zipline, a drone-based delivery services provider, has partnered with WellSpan Health, a community-based healthcare provider, to launch a drone-based prescription delivery service for the latter's customers and to transport lab samples and medical products between facilities in Pennsylvania.
The companies intend to utilize Zipline’s latest drone delivery system, “P2,” for the purpose.
WellSpan Health does not have a defined timeline for the service launch but has mentioned that it plans to introduce the service over the “coming years” at selected locations. Reportedly, this makes WellSpan the first health service to introduce drone-based deliveries in Pennsylvania.
